California Motor Vehicle Dealers

Alabama Auto Dealers are required to obtain a Regulatory Permit from the states Sales, Use and Business Tax Division. This permit will need to be presented to the county license issuing official for the issuance of a Privilege License as well as license plate. It will also have to be presented at the Taxpayer Service Center for tag issuance.

All dealers must obtain a license with the State of California. A dealer Number and corresponding dealer plates will be issued at the time of licensing.

Dealer License Fees:

$150 application fee
$100 renewal fee
$225 fee must be paid to the New Motor Vehicle Board by: New Auto Dealers, Commercial and Motorcycle Dealers

California Dealer Surety Bond

A $50,000 MVD Surety Bond is required by the state.
