Idaho Motor Vehicle Dealers

All dealers of new vehicles in the state must submit an application and present a franchise letter from the manufacturer. Dealer plates will be allowed to be transfered upon the sale of the dealership

Used auto dealers must pass a written exam, and for renewal must attend 4 hours of continuing education during the previous year.

All Dealer Licenses must be displayed, and all applications are investigated.

Idaho Dealer Surety Bond

Dealers selling Motorcycles, ATVs and snow mobiles are required to provide a $10,000 surety bond. Auto dealers in the state of Idaho most provide a $20,000 Bond.
