Indiana Motor Vehicle Dealers
Dealers: All dealers are required to have a license. Dealers are also required to have a lot and a building that is not attached to, or part of, a residence. They are also required to have a display area that is suitable for at least 10 vehicles, a permanenet sight that clearly displays name and hours of operation, and a retail merchant certificate number. Proper garage liability insurance is also required.
All dealers must sell at least 12 vehicles per year. With application the dealer must provide proof of insurance, a photograph of there premises, and if a new vehicle dealer, the franchise agreement.
Salvage License: Issued for Crushers, Recyclers, Rebuilder and used parts dealers, this license holder must have 3 or more inoperable vehicles on their lot.
Dealer License Fees:
- $10 for Transfer Dealers
- $20 for Wholesalers
Indiana MVD Surety Bond
No dealer bond is currently required in the State of Indiana.
