I’m not entirely sure, as I don’t know the specific terms set by Copart. However, to my knowledge, they work with both individuals and licensed dealers.
According to Florida state regulations, if you’re selling a vehicle as an individual (without a dealer license), the car must be titled in your name and used for personal, family, household, or business purposes. Additionally, you can sell up to three vehicles per year without a license. If you plan to sell three or more vehicles or flip cars for profit, you’ll need to obtain a Florida dealer license.
For more clarification on licensing requirements and Copart’s policies, I recommend reaching out directly to Copart and the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles. You may also find our free How to Get an Auto Dealer License in Florida eBook helpful.
If you decide to move forward, you’ll also need a dealer bond as part of the licensing process, along with insurance and completion of the required pre-licensing steps. Let me know if you need help with the bonding requirement.

Can I get a license vi/SD on motorcycle shop ?
Hi Hector,
Yes, you can apply for a Florida dealer license for a motorcycle dealership, as long as your business meets the state’s requirements.
However, Florida requires a physical “established place of business” that meets specific standards (signage, office space, zoning approval, and display area depending on the license type). It cannot be virtual or “via SD” only, and it must be a properly approved commercial location that complies with Florida DHSMV requirements.
You can review the official dealer licensing requirements here: https://www.flhsmv.gov/motor-vehicles-tags-titles/dealers-installers-manufacturers-distributors-importers/mv-rv-mh-dealer-broker-licenses/
